Job description Two Circles, a global sports agency, is expanding its Software Engineering team in London and seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to shape their technology offerings. The role involves technical leadership, code development, and client solution advising.

Responsibilities

Write clean, reusable code and help define coding standards.
Advocate for developer experience and continuous improvement.
Lead technical design, architecture, and development of digital projects.
Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Leads, and Product Managers.
Set up software development frameworks for release management and automation.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance.
Stay updated on emerging sports technology trends.
2 days/week in London office, occasional travel to other offices.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience.
Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, React, and Next.js (desirable).
Strong understanding of database systems (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Experience with CI/CD tools (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Familiarity with DevOps and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Experience with Agile development and test automation.
Experience monitoring application performance using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, DataDog, Sentry.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience building services for high-traffic systems (desirable).
